Bass River Rod & Gun Club August Newsletter
|
|
|
|
Over the last months, I’ve talked a lot about Volunteerism and Planning for the future at the Club. This month I’d like to ask you to think about and plan for the future of our firearms ownership in Massachusetts.
As you know, Chapter 135 was signed into law last year, despite the nearly 100,000 signatures gathered to try and stop it.
There are many lawsuits currently being brought to try and overturn the law through the courts.
In November 2026, the fight will be brought to the ballot box when you vote.
Two organizations here in Massachusetts are planning for that day right now-
- GOAL - For Gun Owners Action League, Click HERE
- The Civil Rights Coalition, Click HERE
The websites for these two groups have the most complete information on what has happened, what’s been done, and what is being planned concerning our firearm rights in the state.
And most importantly, what you can do to help:
Please go to their sites and sign up for their newsletters. Donate if you can.
Volunteer opportunities are posted and will be changing as November 2026 gets closer.
Look for opportunities to educate fellow voters that may not understand what is happening concerning gun rights.
Thank you for anything you can do to help.
Dan Paige, President

Bass River Rod & Gun Club thrives with active member participation. Despite an expanding volunteer base, we face a common challenge - 80% of the work is done by 20% of our members. To realize our full potential, members' time, talents, and dues are essential.
We need your help in filling the following positions:
Donations Chair: this position coordinates the donations and scholarships provided by Bass River - schedules our blood drives - and coordinates our annual Veterans Shoot. Club Historian: we're looking for someone who, over time and with the help of our older members, begin to compile the history and photographs of our club. If you enjoy history, and you have the time to work on this important project at your leisure, please contact Kevin York by clicking HERE.
Social Media Chair: we're looking for a person who is willing to be trained and coached on doing the club newsletter and manage our social media pages. Or, if you're interested in helping with one or the other, please contact Kevin York
To hear more about these positions, please email us by clicking HERE.
