2026 Scholarship Winners

Congratulations!

President Dan Paige introduced this year’s scholarship winners,

”We started the scholarship program many years ago. It was designed to foster interest in conservation and wildlife preservation.

Over the years, it has grown from one school to two to three as our membership is comprised of members from many towns. We allow the schools to choose the students on a number of criteria, including their interests, their planned continuing education and need. Need is especially crucial today with the costs of college. Our recipients, representing towns across the Cape, need our help. And as a club, which prides itself on looking out for our neighbors, we are in a position of providing a small measure of assistance. We are truly proud to do so.”

      Archery

Outdoor beginners archery on Sundays from 9:00am to 11:00am is going strong! We are at times overwhelmed with the turnout. The more eyes we have on people, the safer we can be, especially when we have young archers.

Give me a shout if you can come by!

      Thanks
      Bill DiNatale

        Matthew's Pond Fish Ladder

Thanks to all that have helped in the pre-season restoration of the Fish Ladder and volunteers that took the time to check the Herring count. Also I am pleased to say that the Ladder will be replaced over the next several months by an Eagle Scout candidate.

Also I would like to thank Andrew Hoyer who has built and set in place several Duck boxes at the end of our club pond. As a student at the University of Maine Orono campus he took time out of his busy schedule to do this.

          Women's Program

Volunteers are still needed to offer instruction for a couple of mini clinics for the ladies of our club. Many have requested private time to gain instruction and/or brush up on their basic skills in shotgun and handguns. Please email Erin at womensprogram@bassriverrodandgun.com with your clinic preference and availability.

          Thank you!

            Volunteer

"The world is moved not only by the mighty shoves of the heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker."

            — Helen Keller

Bass River Rod & Gun Club thrives with active member participation. Despite an expanding volunteer base, we face a common challenge - 80% of the work is done by 20% of our members. To realize our full potential, members' time, talents, and dues are essential.

            Club Dinner

We need volunteers to assist with the monthly club dinner every third Friday of the month from 5 - 7 pm. No cooking required! If you're able to help, please contact Larry Lyford by clicking HERE.

            Wednesday Workers

Come to the main clubhouse any Wednesday at 8 am to help with various tasks around the club.

We need your help in filling the following positions:

Archery Instructor & Archery Assistants:  If you're an archery instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor - or, if you are willing to help open and supervise the archery range on an alternating schedule, contact Bill DiNatale by clicking HERE.

Rifle Instructor & Jr. Rifle Assistants:  If you're a rifle instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor to help with the Junior Rifle Program, contact Greg Gnadiek by clicking HERE.

            6. And of course, there's always the delicious dinner.
