Good Things Are Happening
This Saturday, the Club resumed its Women’s Programs. The Education Committee, led by Brian McCormack, hosted a Woman Only “Firearms Instructional Shooting Clinic”. The Clinic was designed as an introductory class for any woman, regardless of skill level.
Morning classroom instruction was provided by Jon Green of GOAL, with afternoon breakouts to safely handle, load, and fire rifles, pistols, and shotguns, down at the ranges. The clinic also qualified as the MA LTC Class, earning the certificate that allows filing for a License to Carry in MA. We had 20 participants, at least half of whom were not connected with the Club. As a Club we have committed to increasing our outreach to the community, and especially to Women and Youth and this is a great start. Look for more days like this as we grow these programs, and as always, if you see a way you can help in any way, please let us know. Dan Paige Sr., President

No matter if you are a new member or old hand, club dinners - held at 6:00PM on the third Friday of each month - are a great way to expand your club experience.
Here are some good reasons to attend:
1. The opportunity to meet other members and officers.
2. A delicious dinner.
3. Getting in some volunteer hours by helping out in the kitchen.
4. A delicious dinner.
5. Sitting in on a directors' meeting afterward and learning for about the workings of the club.
6. And of course, there's always the delicious dinner.
Call the club at 508.375.9395 to make a reservation!
New Members: Meet your social engagement requirement. Come to the dinner after you are voted in and spend a good time with some new friends!

Looking For Left-Handers!
We have had 2 new, young, left hand shooters recently join the Junior Rifle Program. We currently only have one left hand bolt action rifle, which is too large and heavy for a child. We have placed an order for 2 rifles, but are still about 12 weeks out from delivery.
In the meantime, we are wondering if anyone has a .22 left hand bolt action single shot rifle that is small and light enough for a 10-11 year old to handle, and would be willing to loan or donate to the Junior Rifle program.
If you have one (or two), please reach out to Greg Gniadek at the e-mail address above

Archery Volunteers Needed
|
|
|
We'd like to restart indoor archery this winter.
It would probably need to be evenings either Sunday, Tuesday or Friday, with juniors from 6-7 and adults from 7-8.
If there is interest in making this a JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program, an assistant is needed who is willing to complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor program.
An assistant will be needed for whatever program we offer.
Please contact Bill DiNatale with input or for more infomation on assisting by clicking HERE.

Volunteering is at the very core of being human. No one has made it through life without someone else's help. - Heather French Henry
|
Bass River Rod & Gun Club thrives with active member participation. Despite an expanding volunteer base, we face a common challenge - 80% of the work is done by 20% of our members. To realize our full potential, members' time, talents, and dues are essential.
We need your help in filling the following positions:
Newsletter Chair: we're looking for a person who is willing to be trained and coached on doing the club newsletter - contact Kevin York by clicking HERE.
Archery Instructor & Archery Assistants: If you're an archery instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor - or, if you are willing to help open and supervise the archery range on an alternating schedule, contact Bill DiNatale by clicking HERE.
Rifle Instructor & Jr. Rifle Assistants: If you're a rifle instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor to help with the Junior Rifle Program, contact Greg Gnadiek by clicking HERE.
To hear more about these positions, please email us by clicking HERE.
