Pistol Leagues Here At Bass River Rod & Gun Club
Bass River Rod and Gun Club offers two seasons of Pistol League shooting. One is held during the winter months September to April under the name Cape Cod Pistol League. At present seven teams make up the league. Matches are shot here at Bass River Rod and Gun Club at the indoor range and at the other six teams ranges on a rotating basis. Car pooling eases the transportation end of traveling but you can go to the other clubs by yourself after being given directions if you so choose. A small fee covers expenses.
The other league is shot during the summer months from May to August. This is a mix of on and off Cape pistol teams. These matches are all shot here at Bass River Rod and Gun Club at the indoor range, in what is termed, a Postal League. Match scores are sent to the league statistician for compiling and then returned to us for team standing results. A small fee covers expenses.
All league matches are shot using a .22 caliber pistol or revolver; most shooters use a pistol, and a red dot aiming sight. No laser sights are allowed. This is a NRA National Match Course of Fire format consisting of ten rounds each of Slow, Timed, and Rapid strings of fire done “on the clock”.
Why not stop in some Monday night just to see what all the fun and what timed honored traditions are about. See club newsletter and as well as the club calendar for shoot nights and schedule. You must be a member or a true applicant of Bass River Rod and Gun Club to be eligible to participate.
